AUBURN, Ind. -- The Auburn Street Department installed two new speed radar signs Tuesday morning in an effort to remind motorists of their speed and to keep the city streets safe.
The new solar-powered speed radar signs are installed at 14th and Main streets and 2nd and Main streets. The signs were placed on Main Street in an attempt to slow traffic down entering the Historic Downtown District.
The signs will display your current speed and flash "Slow Down" or "Too Fast" if you're exceeding the speed limit.
Those motorists who are driving safely at the posted speed, will see a "Smiley Face" on the speed sign.
The Auburn Police Department hopes these new signs remind all drivers to keep safety top of mind and maintain safe speeds throughout the city.
Stay safe and drive carefully.
