AUBURN, Ind. -- The Auburn Board of Works and Public Safety approved the promotion of four Auburn firefighters during the Tuesday, June 7 meeting.
Later that evening the four firefighters appeared at the Auburn Common Council meeting for their official swearing-in ceremony. Mayor Mike Ley swore in each of the firefighters in front of a large audience of family and friends. After each firefighter took the oath of office for their promotion a family member chosen by each firefighter pinned his new badge to his dress blues.

Cox began his career as a volunteer firefighter with the Washington Township Fire Department in Allen County in 1991.
