AUBURN, Ind. – Wayne Street in front of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum received a face lift in the form of a large art installation just in time for this year’s Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival weekend. 

The larger mural was part of an art installation featuring five additional crosswalks throughout the city. Two of the painted crosswalks are on 6th Street, with two additional around the Eckhart Public Library campus. 

A sixth crosswalk will be completed in the spring of 2026 by the DeKalb Visitor’s Bureau. 

The project was made possible through a grant through Patronicity secured by the Auburn Main Street. 

The larger art installation in front of the ACDA Museum was completed by local artist Amy Buchs with help from a group from the Hearten House. 

The art installation features the Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg car emblems. 

Festival week officially kicked off Sunday with the annual Garage Tour. 

Participants in the 50th annual ACD Festival Hoosier Tour will leave the museum parking lot Tuesday morning around 8:30 a.m. This year’s trip will take participants to the Goshen, Indiana area. The tour will make their way back to town on Thursday for the annual Kick-Off Luncheon and Celebration at the ACDA Museum. 

The 55th annual Auburn Auction and Show also begins on Thursday, August 28 with events at the Worldwide

•    9 a.m. to 7 p.m. – 55th Annual Auburn Auction & Show – Worldwide Auctioneers, 5634 Opportunity Blvd. 

•    11 a.m. – Pre-Parade Entertainment featuring the Auburn Community Band – Courthouse Square

•    1 p.m. – Parade of Classics

•    Immediately Following the Parade, a Meet and Greet with Sam Mahdavi, parade grand marshal. Mahdavi is a popular YouTube channel host of “Sam’s Garage”

•    4 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Ticket to Ride – Corner of 7th Street and Jackson Street

•    5:30 p.m. – Fast & Furious Car Show with entertainment by Reload and RekT
