AUBURN, Ind. – Auburn Main Street and the Downtown Auburn Business Association invites DeKalb County residents to Historic Downtown Auburn Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for December’s First Friday event.
Friday’s event Season’s Greetings & Holiday Cheer will include the ever popular winter market at the Atrium Marketplace.
New to this year’s holiday First Friday event is a large holiday card display at Courtyard Park “Greetings From Auburn” sponsored by Auburn Main Street.
Local businesses have sponsored 10 holiday cards with special messages attached painted by local artists. The cards will be on display throughout the holiday season. For those who have been following Auburn Main Street’s Season Greetings promotion on Facebook the final “Smallmark” movie segment will come to life at Courtyard Park live at 6 p.m.
Once again this year Auburn Main Street is looking for the public’s input as it looks to crown the Holiday Cheer Award winner for the best decorated downtown business. Residents are asked to cast their vote online at https://auburnmainstreet.dm.networkforgood.com/forms/2024-holiday-cheer-award. The winner will be announced at 7 p.m.
Musical entertainment will include the DeKalb County Community Orchestra at the Atrium Marketplace. The marketplace will also include facepainting by Amarra Nester.
The Auburn Rotary will be hosting a Chili Soup Cookoff from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Classic City Church, 138 E. Seventh Street (formerly Cupbearer Café). Those wishing to show off a favorite family recipe can do so for $25 by contacting Kathleen Alter kalter@cfdekalb, Diann Hines email@example.com, Renee Florin firstname.lastname@example.org. Samples of chili and the soups will be $10. While sampling the soups and chili vote for your favorite.
