Christmas Parade will welcome the holidays to Auburn

AUBURN, Ind. – It’s time to kick off the holiday season in historic downtown Auburn with the lighting of Frosty and the annual Christmas Parade.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their first visit to town Tuesday, November 21 at 7 p.m. as the Christmas Parade winds its way through the city.

Parade lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. but no later than 6:15 p.m., at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds. From the DeKalb County Fairgrounds the parade will travel west on 16th Street to Main Street, then north on Main to 9th Street, east on 9th to Cedar and then north on Cedar Street to 7th Street. The parade will end at the City/County parking lot on 7th Street.

At the ending of the parade awards will be presented to the top three parade entries in categories of walking groups, decorated vehicles and floats.

The lighting of the Frosty display on the wall of the James Foundation building over Courtyard Park will take place at the conclusion of the parade.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will return to the chalet in Courtyard Park on Saturday, November 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to visit with children. The jolly couple will be at the chalet on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays through Christmas.

Santa’s Chalet schedule includes:

  • Tuesday, November 28 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 30 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 2 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 5 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 7 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 9 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 12 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 14 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 16 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 19 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 21 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 23 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
