The Eckhart Public Library will be celebrating the beginning of Summer with its annual Strawberries Around the Fountain event sponsored by the Friends of the Eckhart Public Library. Strawberry shortcakes made with handmade vanilla ice cream from The Brown House and biscuits from The Deli at Sixth and Main will be sold for $10 each. Hot dogs and water will be available free of charge, thanks to a donation from The Auburn Moose Lodge and Mettert's WaterCare. 

There will be live music from the Main Street Porch Band along with horse-drawn wagon rides from the DeKalb County Horsemen's Association, face painting from Mystic Brush and outdoor games from Y on the Fly. The Friends of the Eckhart Public Library will also have a book sale. 

The event benefits the Eckhart Public Library. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the McKenney-Harrison Elementary School gymnasium. If supplies allow, there will be a Second Chance Sale of Friday at The Deli on Sixth & Main beginning at 10 a.m.
